Club Marine, Australia's largest boat insurance provider, has announced a new partnership with the Australian Offshore Powerboat Club (AOPC) to offer specialised land-based insurance coverage for race boats.
This initiative addresses a significant gap in the market, providing protection for vessels while they are on land.

The collaboration enables race boat owners to secure coverage for accidental loss or damage, theft, or malicious damage to their boats when they are on land and on their trailers. Additionally, policyholders are covered for up to $2,000 (including GST) for non-refundable powerboat race and tournament entry fees if a covered incident causes withdrawal from an event.

AOPC Commodore Antony De Fina highlighted the longstanding relationship with Club Marine and expressed satisfaction with the development of this new insurance offering. He noted that such coverage had previously been unavailable, and its introduction demonstrates Club Marine's commitment to supporting the racing community.

Club Marine CEO Tim Wiles expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating that it reflects the company's dedication to supporting the sport and strengthening connections with boating enthusiasts across Australia. The initiative also includes coverage for the AOPC's Shark Cat vessel used during race day events.

This new insurance product provides race boat owners with peace of mind, knowing their vessels are protected during transit and storage. It also signifies a positive step forward for the Australian Offshore Superboat Championship, as support from industry leaders like Club Marine contributes to the sport's growth and sustainability.
